International Children’s Respiratory Summit – SAMAYPED 2025 – October 17 and 18, 2025

Within the SAMAYPED 2025 international summit, a specific session on Cystic Fibrosis will be held on October 17th. The event, organized by the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology, will take place at the BTH Hotel in San Borja and will feature the participation of international experts on Cystic Fibrosis from Colombia, Argentina, and Uruguay.

WORLD CYSTIC FIBROSIS DAY – 8 SEP 2025

On the occasion of World Cystic Fibrosis Day, on September 7, 2025, Fiqui Perú held its annual walk for Cystic Fibrosis Day.

That day, we took to the streets filled with strength, hope, and unity to remind everyone that Cystic Fibrosis exists, that it needs visibility, and that together we can make a difference.

Respiratory Therapy Clinic:

From June 7th to 14th, 2025, a Respiratory Therapy Clinic was held at FIQUI PERU, led by Argentine Kinesiologist Gisela Giampaoli, an expert in CF. It was conducted with the aim of increasing the training of Respiratory Therapists and CF Patients.

II International Congress on Cystic Fibrosis – November 14 and 21, 2024

The 2nd International Cystic Fibrosis Congress was held virtually from November 14th to 21st, 2024. The congress was aimed at physicians in Peru who currently treat CF patients. The speakers were internationally recognized CF experts who generously shared their knowledge and the latest advances in CF treatments with the Peruvian physicians.

Newborn Screening Workshop – November 8, 2024

On November 8th, the first Neonatal Screening Workshop for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) was held at the BTH Hotel in San Borja. It was aimed at the leaders responsible for conducting screenings for hospitals under the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and the Social Security Health Insurance (EsSalud). Early detection of CF is crucial for initiating treatment as soon as possible, thus improving the quality of life and life expectancy of patients. The event featured two Uruguayan experts who manage the program in their country, which has a successful track record in CF screening.

2nd Update Meeting on Cystic Fibrosis – July 22, 2023

On July 22nd, an event was held for professionals working with cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. The speakers shared their experiences from various training events they attended abroad at conferences and specialized CF centers.
